First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Parapsychology: A Scientific Approach by Milan Ryzl (Hawthorn Books, 1970). Rare true first edition of this sober and logical look at the various occult / supernatural / paranormal aspects of psychology. Ryzl is known for his research into hypnosis, ESP and other aspects of parapsychology.
Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces, large crease across front covers, some staining around the edges and general wear around all edges - including chipping, creases and small tears. Boards slightly bowed and with corners bumped. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is fairly straight. Faint staining to top outer edge of text block, with many pages being slightly wavy and a bit discolored towards outer edges. See photos for condition.
